How Sabera Came to BeMy weekend getaways to Sakleshpur, to our coffee estate, were my escape from the ever-growing crowd, the chaotic city life, the incessant noise, and the omnipresent social media. I sought peace and quiet amidst the lush green plantation spread over 100 acres. The bloom of coffee flowers, the far-reaching fragrance filling my senses, the chirping of birds, the mist-covered mountains, the fresh smell of earth after the rains, and the star-filled sky just pulled me in and brought about a calmness, reducing my stress every time. It was my own little patch of heaven, available whenever I needed it.
During one such trip, I thought to myself, why not share this feeling with others? This would also provide me with an opportunity to be here more often than just on weekends, and thus, Sabera was born. When I presented this idea to my dad, he was initially skeptical, given that there were quite a few homestays scattered around. However, he agreed under the condition that Sabera would be different. It had to stand out from the crowd, be distinct from the regular concrete structures, and make guests feel truly at home.
